How did I get here?

Started off young doing restaurant work and lawn snow shoveling the typical thing at 14 years old. Working going to school. Then as things progressed I got into helping a contractor for a short bit. Finally I worked at a place that made shelters I started working there as a helper and very quickly I was a framer.

As time went on I had an interest in computing that stemmed from school and things and general interest in progression of technology. Things like burning cd’s were an amazement and digital photography. Took 4 years of graphics arts in highschool had earned some collage credits. Then I became the neighborhood computer fixer.

Then I went ahead and certified with COMPTIA A+ CFL credit. I did some IT contract work for the Northern Bay for Sam King at the time for a couple of years. Then Did electrical and IT work At Fun Company for 15 years And finally was Department Manger in Trailer Wiring at Stealth Trailers for 2 years.

Programming and using shift register to control relays.

This helped me develop a start to making smart home devices. Making this chip work as GPIO port expansion proved useful and allowed me to add more GPIO’s to the MCU with a simple driver. Pretty radical.

Personally designed smart home before Alexa was a thing below

This took quite a while to learn and develop but it was a fun project worth doing. Before alexa there was google voice I could use both voice commands and buttons to do everything that you see here. The nice thing about all this is there were not 3rd party servers collecting my information I simply had control of everything from anywhere in the world with zero 3rd parties collecting my information. I would surely use this knowledge for myself in the near future to do it again but after moving it was a bit more sensible for me to accept alexa due to time constraints and the improvements however I do not believe that it is as good of an option as this was entirely I was able to do some pretty cool things with lighting and such over time that is not shown here.

Renewable Energy Setup All done personally by me.

This was done prior to things being overly regulated and prior to smart meters I’m glad I had the ability and the timing to be able to use alternative energy this setup saved me like 70.00 per month on electric wow I miss this setup good times. Thank you Robert and Koreen Frisk for letting me do this and making it possible as a renter you guys were excellent to us we wish you the best! FRISK FARMS they take care of their ladies (cows)

Inverted 3D Delta Printer Build

This was a project to make an upside down delta printer build so that everything is serviceable and portable. Had to finish it with one arm after a work injury prior to knowing what was wrong. Turned out I tore my biceps tendon and needed surgery but who would’ve known? I just knew something wasn’t right but still made it happen then surgery kinda was a pain so I couldn’t test it right away.. Physical therapy and walking to keep in shape consumed most of my time so I didn’t get to mess with it other than recording a video of it. After being back working and right in the process of moving to another house I was able to find time to test it. The things we experience just trying to make a living can be radical and quite the challenge to experience.

This unit had to be built upside down and new firmware needed to be written to allow it to function as it should. It does work however I have not made much with it. For some time I worked this all out with a bit of online help and a lot of just figuring out this was the result. The auto feed roll holder was also something I added in the idea of keeping things all contained to a single unit. The raspberry pi is there so that computing is there enabling near complete portability minus a screen which I never got around to integrations of a screen. But pretty much anywhere you have a screen with an HDMI input and electrical outlet you can take this and use it. That was the idea.
